In 1936 a chapel 'the Kruiskapel' was built in the town of Eksaarde (Belgium). This at the exact location where in 1317 two miraculous crucifixes were found by a certain 'Baudouin with the Nine Pounds'. Suddenly his spade hit a hard object: a cross, and when Baudouin pulled it out of the ground, blood came out. After that he found a second cross, two Roman bowls and a spear. As soon as he brought those mysterious objects home, all bells of the church of Eksaarde started to ring spontaneously. Baudouin informed the priest, who told it to Lord of Eksaarde, after which the two crosses were transferred in procession to the village church. When the parade passed the village square, two lumberjacks were at work there. "Oh", said one,"Baudouin with the Nine Pounds has found the old God." Suddenly his head stood backwards on his trunk and only got back to normal when the man had openly shown repentance. The lord of Eksaarde took one of the crosses with him, but it was found next morning alongside the other. From this the people deduced that the two crosses would be honoured in Eksaarde.
