The work is in Irish style and starts slow, with the tempo increasing all the time to an exciting grand finale where all the soloists and the band must perform at their best. The composition is a reworked version of 'Three Of A Kind’ for soprano sax, trumpet, euphonium and piano. 'Four Of A Kind' was created on request of the Royal Fanfare Band ‘De Berthoutzonen’ from Hallaar (Belgium), and was premiered on October 17th 2015 with soloists Lore Vertommen (saxophone), Jorrick Saelen (trumpet), Kevin Van Giel (euphonium) and the composer himself on Eb bass.
